Now ...... you know I don't like heights, and even more, I don't like heights over water ....... so you can imagine just how brave I had to be this morning to walk over the Harbour Bridge. Not, I hasten to add, the somewhat expensive walk right over the top of the bridge, when you have to wear a hideous boiler suit and you can't take your camera with you. This was just the ordinary everyday stroll across the bridge, alongside the traffic and trains, but it was worth it for views like this
This is me trying to pretend that I am not on the verge of tears!!
while Malcolm was quite relaxed about the whole thing
then we got to the other side and discovered that we could go up one of the towers. Somehow my mouth opened and I said ..... "let's go up the tower, we'll get even better views!
if you look closely, you can see that I am clinging to the glass barrier!
whereas Malcolm was still untroubled by how high up we were!
back at ground level ........ my reward! A 6" meatball sub ....... my absolute favourite sub, which I maybe have once a year as a treat!
having recovered from the ordeal of walking over the bridge, we headed up to the Observatory, where we had yet another fabulous view of the bridge
after lots of walking rounnd the Observatory, and walking back down to Circular Quay, a little refreshment was needed. Well ....... what was Malcolm to do, the banana muffin was on a special offer with his coffee! (but somehow ended up next to my tea!)
this evening, we walked down to Darling Harbour, to have dinner here
Living in the middle of nowhere, I don't have much chance to play with taking photos in the dark .....
and to finish, just in case you haven't yet had enough photos of these two iconic structures ..... this was the view from the ferry heading home this afernoon
