Having had a serious session of template making, I was able this afternoon to make my next two Farmer's Wife's blocks. These are the pieces for the first block .....
....... and this is the finished block
The next block was straightforward, apart from making sure I didn't stretch all those bias edges!
When stitching blocks like this, it is all to easy to turn the pieces round when taking them from the cutting board to the machine, so I always pop a pin in the edge that is to be sewn
The finished block
So that's six done ...... only about another hundred to go!
At the workshop with Sheena on Saturday, she told us about Leah Day and her free motion quilting project. As my fmq has become decidedly rusty in recent times, I have been studying the video clips of her marvellous work. I had a little play this afternoon, and think I can see a minor improvement!
I think I will have to make the effort to do a little bit every day .......ok, make that most days ....... well, at least two or three times a week! I have to knuckle down and make things for my table at the Southdean Christmas Fair at the end of the month - I have lots of ideas for things to make. I may have to give up sleeping for a week or two!!
