I have been making progress with the socks, finishing one and making a good start to the second one
Bur for most of today I have been working on my row quilt. Yesterday I had added an inner border ......
and a wide outer border
I wanted to add a trailing vine with flowers round the outer border, so I started this morning by cutting bias strips (cutting the fabric at a forty five degree angle to the straight grain, which allows it to curve)
Next - a gadget! This is a bias tape maker - you feed the strip in .......
..... then gradually pull it through while pressing it
The result is bias strips with raw edges folded in on the wrong side ......
....... this is the strip ready to use
I then prepared lots of flowers (oops, forgot to take photos!) I have just pinned the vines and flowers roughly in place - the spacing needs sorted out and the curves could be better!
I will add some leaves, then put hearts in the corners. After that there will just (!) be the quilting to do. However, as the quilt top is so busy, I think it won't need a lot of quilting - just enought to hold it all together.
Remember, you have until Friday to leave comments so that you will be included in the big draw!
