This morning when we were in Hawick, we had a look round the Shelter charity shop. Malcolm spotted something he thought I might like .... like it? ..... I love it ......
...... the cutest little toy sewing machine! The box hadn't even been opened - I would have loved to have been given this when I was little, but perhaps today's little girls would rather have a computer game that does sewing!
It has a little foot pedal
A little drawer for accessories
The light comes on when you sew - and yes, that is a dial to adjust the tension! Never mind it being a lovely toy for a little girl, this big girl is delighted with it!
Next we went into Almstrong's, which could just about be described as a department store, but these days it is sadly dilapidated. However, every so often, they have a 25% off everything sale - but what I bought was an even bigger bargain, as it was already half price ...
At just over £7, it has to be the bargain of the week.
And now, a fanfare of trumpets, a roll of drums - and possibly a clash of cymbals ..... yes, for the third day in a row, I have finished something (I will have to lie down in a darkened room!)
I was out in the studio this afternoon sewing away on my bag - here is a detail of the buttons
and another of the blanket stitch and squiggly machine quilting
I'm off to Chesters tomorrow for another Woolgathering, so I'll tell you all about it next time.
