I know that Jane Brocket talks of the gentle art of domesticity, but today's domestic tasks were more of the boring sort. Monday means the weekly food shop - I don't mind the shopping, it's putting it all away! Then there was the washing to be done - it has either been raining or threatening to rain, so it's now hanging up in the utility room to dry. I should have done some ironing, but didn't quite get round to it!
However, there was something interesting going on today. The last part of the steading where we live is finally being converted (and a big bit built on to it). We had scarcely finished breakfast when we saw the crane on site, and by the time I came back from shopping they had already lifted a lot of the roof trusses into place.
We spent quite a lot of time popping out the back to see how things were progressing - by the end of the day, the rest of the trusses were on. We'll be glad when the work is finished - as you can see we have some scaffolding in the garden.
This afternoon I was in the studio taking photos of some of my work, but I also took some random photos as well.
This lovely sign was made for me by my friend Jean for my birthday some years ago.
I couldn't resist this silly sign - it's stuck to my notice board!
This is a page I kept from an old calendar.
I printed this out from an e-mail some years ago, so it's a bit faded, so I hope you can read it. This is definitely the way I want to go!!
Malcolm put up this 'new' shelf unit for me today - I salvaged it from his Dad's garden shed!
Did you spot this gorgeous little hedgehog? Isn't she a cutie - I got her from BusyBee.
While typing this, I'm watching Reporting Scotland. They are showing a story about my home town of Airdrie - it was raining, grey and miserable - I wonder why I left!!
Now, I'm a bit slow sometimes, but I get there in the end .... I hope you noticed that the photos are finally centred - I had a 'lightbulb' moment - it has only taken me two months to realize how to do it!
